Global Family Initiative
Impact investing in projects designed and led by the communities they serve.
Providing 109,000+ nights of safety and supporting over 75 social impact projects
We work to connect people to resources like safe housing, food and supplies, psychosocial support, and critical information, as well as seed funding for community impact projects, which contribute to economic, environmental, and social well-being.
Why the Global Family Initiative?
At the heart of the Global Family Initiative is a commitment to empowering communities and fostering resilience. By supporting alumni-led ventures with seed funding and wellbeing resources, we nurture leaders creating tailored solutions for local challenges. Through investments in social impact projects and direct aid like food, shelter, and emergency relief, we build pathways to sustainability and economic growth. Join us in driving meaningful change.

areas of work
The Global Family Initiative consists of 5 core areas of work. Discover how it works.

Emergency Response
The initiative will prioritize immediate aid through shelter, food, and psychosocial support for LGBTQI+ and displaced individuals. With a focus on building resilience, the program bridges urgent needs and long-term community-driven solutions.

Food Relief
In 2025, the program aims to expand emergency food relief efforts, building on the 14,500+ kg of food distributed in 2024. By addressing food insecurity, particularly in marginalized communities, it fosters trust and understanding while improving community cohesion and safety.

Acts of Kindness
The Acts of Kindness program will extend its reach to serve 40,000 people in 2025, fostering inclusivity and reducing stigma in hostile environments. Activities include food distribution and community engagement to build safer, more supportive environments.

Social Impact Projects
Increased investment in social impact projects will support graduate-led initiatives and organizations, fostering economic resilience. By empowering local leaders, the program aims to create sustainable solutions tailored to community needs.

Shelter
Providing over 12,000 nights of safety in 2024, the shelter program offers critical support to LGBTQI+ individuals at risk. Efforts in 2025 will enhance stability and safety for vulnerable community members with a $10,000 budget allocation.
