Beverly Dhliwayo, a Zimbabwean asylum seeker living in South Africa, is the Co-leader (CL) for Socio-emotional Support for The Dream Academy (TDA). As a CL, Bev is responsible for co-leading classes for the 10-weeks of TDA on socio-emotional support which includes trauma healing, anger management, PTSD management, healthy coping mechanisms, social reintegration, and acts of kindness, among others. The CL reports directly to the Global Director of TDA.
Beverly is a lesbian mom, and works in the hospitality industry. She is passionate about queer rights, and never misses an opportunity to reach out and extend her support and care to marginalized LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers in South Africa and beyond.
