Global Families

Based on suggestions from the refugee community and initial interviews, we have seen that there is an urgent need to offer support to single mothers and widows in the Rohingya refugee community. Safe Place International will facilitate a community managed program that offers sustained assistance to 20-30 single mothers in the Kutupalong refugee camp.

This support will be catered to the needs of each family but may include: food, housing, cooking fuel, firewood, funding for medical care, educational supplies for children, mental health care, clothing, assistance accessing existing services, legal aid, and advocating for the families. The program will be initiated and managed by Safe Place International in collaboration with community members. From the beginning of this program we will work side by side with community members to provide them with training and resources they need to take over management of the program in the future.
